Belgian National Day 2023

The Belgian Royal Family celebrated National Day 2023 with a series of events on July 20th and 21st. The day commemorates July 21st, 1831 in which Prince Leopold of Saxe-Cobourg-Gotha swore allegiance to the new Belgian constitution, thus becoming the first Head of State of an independent state of Belgium under a constitutional monarchy and parliament. Dutch State Visit to Belgium

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium are hosting King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands on their State Visit to Belgium from June 20th to the 22nd, which is the latest in the close relationship between the Dutch and Belgian Royal Families over decades. The themes of the visit are improving social and physical quality of life, combating climate change, maintaining and promoting a safe society and a sustainable future in which energy is green and affordable. The visit contributes to the further deepening of the intensive cooperation, in which the Netherlands and Belgium strive for a safe, clean and sustainable future.

Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla

Royalty and Heads of State from around the world have gathered to join the British Royal Family for the spectacular Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla at Westminster Abbey on May 6th, which is the first British Coronation in 70 years. The Ceremony follows the King’s Accession Council in September as well as a Reception for Royalty and Heads of State at Buckingham Palace.
