In the early 1960s, Queen Sirikit began to wear a massive Sapphire Pendant surrounded by modern Diamonds, which was likely acquired from Van Cleef & Arpels, and made an early appearence in Denmark during King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit’s landmark Tour of Europe in 1960.

By the 1970s, that Sapphire Pendant began to be worn with a larger Sapphire Parure consisting of a Necklace with the detachable pendant, a pair of Earrings an a large Bracelet, which were worn with the Diamond Fringe Tiara or Diamond Necklace Tiara (which may or may not have an option to be worn with Sapphires) for the Iranian State Visit to Thailand in 1968 and the British State Visit to Thailand in 1972.

Queen Sirikit continued to wear her Sapphire Suite through the 1980s, 90s, and up to the 200s, with notable appearences for the Japanese State Visit to Thailand in 1991 and the British State Visit to Thailand in 1996. The Sapphire Suite has not been publicly worn for a few years but lets hope it makes a reappearance soon!

Queen Suthida wore the Sapphire Suite with Diamond Bracelets for the Coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.
