The British Royal Family attended the second day of races at the Ascot Racecourse on June 15th. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar. The Queen has attended all five days of the horse-racing event since 1953, though she was only present for one day in 2021 and so far not present this year. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall were joined by Vice Admiral Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt in the first Carriage (with an empty spot left for the Queen), the Earl and Countess of Wessex and Forfar with Lord and Lady de Mauley in the second Carriage, Princess Alexandra with Princess Beatrice and Count Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and Countess Mountbatten of Burma in the third Carriage, and David and Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and Peter and Philippa V’Landys in the final Carriage, for the procession from Windsor Castle to the Ascot Racecourse in horse-drawn landaus, before the Royal Family and their guests spent the day in the Royal Enclosure.
