King and Queen at Screening of ‘A Star is Born’, 1937

King George VI and Queen Elizabeth (wearing the Cartier Halo Tiara) attended the Screening of ‘A Star is Born’ at Brook House, Park Lane, the London Home of Lord and Lady Louis Mountbatten, on this day in 1937, just days after their Coronation. Cynthia, Countess Spencer (in the Spencer Tiara), a Lady-In-Waiting to the Queen, was also present.

  1. I love it when I discover these old photographs popping up all of a sudden. Thank you for sharing as I had missed that post by Earl Spencer. So it turns out that Queen Elizabeth actually wore this tiara at least a few times and I incorrectly made a note to myself some years ago that Queen Elizabeth had only been photographed publicly once wearing this tiara.
