Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent, and Princess Josephine joined Queen Margrethe II of Denmark as she waved to crowds and viewed the changing of the guard from the veranda of Marselisborg Palace to mark her 82nd Birthday on April 16th.

In 1980, I was in Copenhagen for Her Majesty’s birthday. I waited in a line to enter Amalienborg Palace, to take HM a bunch of Cat’s Tails as it was also Orthdox Palm Sunday. We were allowed into an ante-chamber in a group of about 20 at a time. We placed our gifts on a round table. They closed the doors, then announced Her Majesty. A door opened and the Royal Family came in. The King and Queen of Greece were there too, as Queen Anne-Marie is Queen Margarethe’s sister. It was a dream experience.
