Crown Prince Paul, Crown Princess Frederica (wearing her Diamond Clips), Princess Katherine and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna joined King George II of Greece for a Gala Screening of the Film ‘Henry V’ at the Cinema Palas in Athens on this day in 1947, on the eve before the King’s death the following afternoon.

The last public appearance of King George II took place on the night of March 31, 1947, on the eve of his sudden death, during the screening of the film “Henry V” at the PALLAS cinema. George, accompanied by the successive couple Paul and Frederick, his sister Princess Catherine and Princess Nicholas Eleni, seemed depressed as he climbed the main staircase of the cinema with obvious effort, and those who it was good”.
