Queen Mary of Denmark’s Diamond Flower Earrings

Crown Princess Mary of Denmark is celebrating her 50th Birthday this week, and thus we are taking the opportunity to feature some of her jewels! The Australian who is set to be the future Danish Queen has a variety of heirloom jewels at her disposal, but Crown Princess Mary also has a varied collection of contemporary jewels, including today’s striking Diamond Flower Earrings!

Consisting of a pair of diamond ear pendants each in the shape of a flower set with numerous brilliant-cut diamonds, mounted in 18k white gold, created circa 2000, these Diamond Flower Earrings were acquired by Crown Princess Mary at auction at Bruun Rasmussen in December 2016, for DKK 7000.

Crown Princess Mary began wearing her new Diamond Flower Earrings quite soon after purchasing them, with the first public appearences in February 2017, which preceded a plethora of appearences throughout 2018 and 2019, most notably at a Dinner hosted by the Danish Ambassador at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris.

More recently, the Diamond Flower Earrings were worn with the Connaught Sapphire Brooch for the Confirmation of Prince Christian in 2021. The Earrings have also featured in some of Crown Princess Mary’s 50th birthday Portraits, taken by Franne Voigt at some point last year. Some of the images are featured in and on the cover of The Australian Women’s Weekly, while the most spectacular one, in which the earrings create a splendid contrast with the Danish Ruby Tiara and a Lasse Spangenberg Gown, which will be the cover of ‘Mary H.K.H’, providing a rare insight into the Crown Princess’ official and private life with new and never before published pictures.
