Consisting of a large marquise-cut diamonds in a modern frame like a ‘chandelier’, the earrings are of unknown provenance, though the Palace has reported to the media that the Diamond Chandelier Earrings were on a long-term loan to the Duchess from the Dutch people.  The Diamond Chandelier Earrings were debuted during the inaugural BAFTA Brits to Watch event in Los Angeles, during the Royal Tour of North America in 2011.

The Duchess wore the Diamond Chandelier Earrings with the Lotus Flower Tiara. the Queen’s Wedding Gift Bracelet, and Queen Mary’s Diamond Choker Bracelet at the Chinese State Banquet in 2015, as well as wearing the Earrings with Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot Tiara a few days later. The following year, the Chandelier Earrings were worn at the East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices ‘A Taste of Norfolk’ Gala at Houghton Hall, as well as for the Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration at Windsor Castle, they were also worn the Gala Dinner hosted by the British Ambassador to France, during the Duke and Duchess’ visit to Paris in 2017 and at the Royal Variety Performance that year. .

Though the Duchess prefers to wear the Queen’s Antique Diamond Earrings for most events, the Diamond Chandelier Earrings have continued to be worn in recent years, with notable appearences at the Tusk Conservation Awards in 2018 and the Charity Performance of ‘Dear Evan Hansen’ in 2019. There is no doubt we will continue to see the for years to come!

  1. These are not your usual chandelier earrings. They are better! That large central diamond seems to be delightfully swinging from side to side, surrounded by his little brothers. It’s a very versatile pair of earrings that you can wear to a movie opening or to a gala dinner. It’s no wonder the Duchess favors them so much!
