The Dutch Government hosted a splendid Gala for Princess Margriet of The Netherlands (wearing the Emerald Tiara and Parure) and her fiancée Pieter van Vollenhoven at the Museum De Lakenhal in Leiden on this day in 1967, a few days before their Wedding in The Hague. Queen Juliana (in the Ears of Wheat Tiara) and Prince Bernhard, Princess Beatrix (in Queen Emma’s Diamond Tiara) and Prince Claus, Princess Irene (wearing the Bourbon-Parma Tiara), and Princess Christina (in the Laurel Wreath Tiara) were also present. The couple got married on January 10th, after a series of other Gala Events which we will cover in upcoming days.
