  1. I Think Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway Is on the same level as Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, Diana, Princess of Wales, Princess Grace of Monaco, Queen Letizia of Spain, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark, Princess Paola of Belgium, Sophie, Countess of Wessex, Princess Charlene of Monaco, Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Princess Sofia of Sweden, Queen Noor al-Hussain of Jordan, Princess Angela of Liechtenstein, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg,

  2. A wonderful list and I do hope to see such a glittering gathering again for Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s 18th birthday next year. I hope you don’t mind me adding a few more bits of information regarding the groom and some more guests.

The Crown Prince wore his full dress uniform of a Major in the Norwegian Army. Some say that he had wanted to wear his naval uniform, but that the tradition dictated that he wear the uniform from the Army. In addition to the Sash and Star of the Order of St Olav he wore the Neck-tie of the Norwegian Order of Merit, the Star of the Danish Order of the Elephant and the Star of the Swedish Order of the Seraphim, the two latter in honour of the Danish and Swedish monarchs attending the wedding. King Harald was also wearing Danish and Swedish Orders in addition to the Sash and Star of the Order of St. Olav. But instead of wearing the Star of the Order of the Elephant he wore the Neck-tie of the Order of Dannebrog and the Star of the Norwegian Order of Merit. I could go on and on about all the Orders worn, but I will leave it with this for now… hehe

Some more glittering guests: from Luxembourg came also the youngest son of Grand Duke Jean, Prince Guillaume and his wife Sibilla. From Denmark came Count Flemming of Rosenborg and his wife Countess Ruth. She wore her Turquoise Star tiara. And also King Harald’s uncle Prince Carl and his Norwegian wife Princess Kristine were there.

  3. I can’t believe that 20 year have already passed. It seems like yesterday! CP Mette-Marit’s wedding dress is one of the most beautiful in recent memory, though I can’t say the same for her wedding bouquet. There is a photo of her w/o her bouquet where she looks like a veritable Viking princess. My heartiest congratulations to the happy couple and may they enjoy many more years of wedded bliss together!

  4. Grand Duchess Joséphine Charlotte of Luxembourg looked divine at the Wedding of Crown Prince Haakon of Norway
