Made in France around 1965, this Multi Gem & Diamond Suite consisting of a Necklace, Earrings and Bracelet was made by Van Cleef & Arpels and was likely one of the wedding gifts, possibly from a Greek tycoon, when Princess Anne-Marie of Denmark married King Constantine II of Greece in 1964. The necklace can be converted into two more bracelets.

Queen Anne Marie was pictured wearing her Van Cleef & Arpels Suite numerous times during her short reign as Queen of Greece, most notably for an Official Dinner in Canada in 1967, as well as the bracelet for the Christening of Princess Alexia of Greece in 1965, just a few months before the Royal Family was forced into exile. She continued wearing the suite in the decades following, notably for the Wedding of Crown Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia and Princess Maria da Gloria of Orleans and Bragança in 1972 and Queen Beatrix’s 60th Birthday Gala in 1998.

In 1995, Queen Anne Marie loaned her Van Cleef & Arpels Suite to her elder daughter, Princess Alexia, who wore it at the spectacular Wedding Gala of her brother, Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, and Marie-Chantal Miller at Wrotham Park, one of the most lavish royal celebrations in recent decades.

In October 2020, the necklace and bracelet of the Van Cleef & Arpels Suite (without the earrings) was advertised by Joseph Saidian & Sons, and while it is unknown if it is either Queen Anne Marie or Princess Alexia selling the suite or if it had been sold to someone else earlier, the provenance was confirmed by the seller. The suite appeared on the 1st Dibs website with the price tag of $320,000, the current status says ‘UNAVAILABLE’ which means that it was either been withdrawn or it has been sold, though the price is not listed.
