Happy Birthday to Duchess Marie-Caroline in Bavaria, Duchess Philipp of Württemberg, who turns 52 today! The second of the five daughters of Prince Max, Duke in Bavaria and Countess Elisabeth Douglas-Stjernorp auf Mühlhausen und Langenstein, her elder sister is Hereditary Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein. Prince Max inherited the title of Duke in Bavaria alongside inherited many estates, including Schloss Tegernsee, Schloss Banz, Schloss Wildenwart and Wildbad Kreuth, and is also the Heir to his elder brother, the Duke of Bavaria, who also possesses many great estates, where Duchess Marie-Caroline and her sisters grew up.  In 1991, Duchess Marie-Caroline married Duke Philipp of Württemberg, son of the Duke Carl of Württemberg and Princess Diane of Orleans, in a series of lavish celebrations. The couple have four children, including Duchess Sophie, Countess Maximilien d’Andigné. In the past few years, Prince Max has been gradually handing over control of his properties to his daughters, and Duchess Marie-Caroline has been increasingly involved in their daily running.
