On the evening of June 11th, the Queen was joined by the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall, and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (wearing Princess Diana’s Pearl Bracelet), at a reception for the G7 leaders at the Eden Project in Cornwall.  Following the ‘family photo’ with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel, Japan’s Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, France’s President Emmanuel Macron, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Britain’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Italy’s Prime minister Mario Draghi, President of the European Council Charles Michel, and US President Joe Biden, the group moved to the reception outside the Rainforest Biome, one of the world’s biggest undercover rainforests.

Afterwards, the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cambridge hosted a reception for the G7 leaders and CEOs from the world’s largest companies to discuss how the private sector can work with governments to tackle the climate emergency. The Queen, the Duchess of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cambridge attended an event in celebration of The Big Lunch, an initiative spearheaded by the Eden Project, for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year.

  1. It was so delightful to see the Queen surrounded by her family doing what she knows how to do so well. She’s looking very excellent, no doubt grateful for the work that she can still do for her country. I hope the summit is a success!
