The Wedding Ball of Prince René of Bourbon-Parma, a son of Robert I, Duke of Parma and Infanta Maria Antonia of Portugal, and Princess Margaret of Denmark, daughter of Prince Valdemar of Denmark and Princess Marie of Orleans, at Bernstorff Palace on this day in 1921, 100 years ago, on the eve of their Wedding. Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included Infanta Maria Antonia, the Dowager Duchess of Parma (wearing the Bourbon-Parma Tiara), King Christian X and Queen Alexandrine of Denmark, Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia (wearing a Diamond Aigrette), Prince George and Princess Marie of Greece (wearing the Cartier Olive Wreath Tiara), Prince Felix of Luxembourg, Prince Axel and Princess Margaretha of Sweden and Denmark (in Princess Marie’s Floral Tiara), and Prince Sixtus and Princess Hedwige of Bourbon-Parma (wearing the Chaumet Bourbon-Parma Tiara), among other members of the extended Danish and Bourbon-Parma Royal Families.

  1. I always found it odd that Queen Alexandrine did not wear any tiara for this event. Especially since the French guests did and they had only arrived to Denmark that same day.
