The Baptism of Rosario Fitz-James Stuart y Palazuelo, the eldest child of the Duke and Duchess of Huéscar and granddaughter of the 19th Duke of Alba, at the Church of San Roman in Seville on May 29th, in a Roman Catholic Ceremony officiated by the Lira Palace Chaplain, Don Ignacio Sánchez-Dalp, who also officiated the Wedding of the Count and Countess of Osorno last week. The godparents are Beltrán Palazuelo (maternal uncle) and Blanca Barrera (a friend of the Duchess). Following the Ceremony, the Baby was presented to the María Santísima de las Angustias Coronada in the Santuario de los Gitanos in Seville, before a Reception at the Palacio de las Dueñas, the Seville Home of the House of Alba. Rosario Fitz-James Stuart is set to succeed her grandfather, the Duke of Alba, and father, the Duke of Huéscar, as the 21st Duchess of Alba, wearing the Christening Gown of her famous great-grandmother, the 18th Duchess of Alba, who was the world’s most titled aristocrat. One of Spain’s most illustrious aristocratic titles, the future Duchess of Alba will Head massive fortune of the House of Alba, concentrated at the Liria Palace in Madrid and the Palacio de las Dueñas in Seville among a plethora of family estates, with hereditary privileges such as being the only person to enter the Seville Cathedral on horseback.

Though the guest-list was limited due to the ongoing pandemic, guests and relatives included the newlywed Count and Countess of Osorno (uncle and aunt), the former Ducal Consort of Alba (step-great-grandfather) the Duchess of Montoro (great-aunt), the Duke of Hijar (great-uncle), the Count and Countess of Siruela (great-uncle and great-aunt), the Marquis and Marchioness of Marañón (great-uncle and great-aunt), the Marquis (great-uncle) and Marchioness de la Motilla, the Duke (cousin) and Duchess of Aliaga, the Marquis of Valencina, the Marquis (cousin) and Marchioness of Almenara, Enrique Solís y Tello (cousin), Brianda Fitz-James Stuart (cousin) among members of the extended House of Alba.
