The Confirmation of Prince Christian of Denmark, the eldest son of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, at the Fredensborg Palace Church on May 15th, in a ceremony officiated by the Royal Confessor, Bishop Henrik Wigh-Poulsen. Queen Margrethe II (wearing her Daisy Brooch), Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary (wearing the Connaught Sapphire Brooch), Princess IsabellaPrince Vincent and Princess Josephine, Prince Nikolai and Prince Felix were among the limited guests people in attendance due to the current restrictions. Prince Christian was Christened at the Christiansborg Palace Chapel in 2006, and as the second-in-line to the Throne, will one day be the Head of the Church of Denmark.

Following the Confirmation Service, Queen Margrethe hosted a Reception at Fredensborg Palace, during which the Royal Family posed for various portraits with Prince Christian in the Garden Room, and they then left the Palace to pose for the press, as a group, as a family, with the parents and also individually, and answer a few questions.

Prince Christian’s godparents include Crown Princess Victoria of SwedenPrince Joachim of DenmarkCrown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway, and Crown Prince Pavlos of Greece, but due to the ongoing pandemic, they, as well as most family members and Royal Guests, were unable to attend. Crown Princess Victoria sent her congratulations publicly, while the other godparents did so privately.
