The sapphire and diamond pendant and sapphire and diamond ring, circa 1915, comes from a European Princely Collection and originates from Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, thence passed by descent to the present owner.

An important diamond brooch, designed as a double-headed eagle holding a sword and a globe, the breast decorated with a coat of arms, surmounted by an imperial crown, was formerly in the collection of the Grand-Ducal House of Habsburg-Tuscany, originating from Archduke Leopold-Salvator of Austria-Tuscany, and then to his son, Archduke Anton, who was married to Princess Ileana of Romania, henceforth remaining with the family.

This striking Chaumet Ruby and Diamond Brooch, of buckle design set with circular-cut and rose diamonds, the central articulated panel with a pierced undulating pattern, highlighted by a row of cushion-shaped rubies, with a similarly-cut ruby and briolette diamond fringe, is the property of a European Noble Family, being worn by Princess Minnie de Beauvau-Craon.

Sapphire and Diamond Brooch

Formerly in the Collection of Maureen Constance Guinness, Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava

This important sapphire and diamond brooch comes from collection of Maureen Guinness, Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava, and includes two large Kashmir sapphires given to the 1st Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava, and recorded in her inventory: ‘Two large sapphires set with diamonds as pendant – given me by people of Punjab (sic) & sent after my return’. The Sapphires were left to her granddaughter-in-law, Maureen Guinness, Marchioness of Dufferin and Ava who had them mounted in the brooch by Cartier in the 1930s. The Dufferin Tiara is on permanent display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The highlight of the Auction is this spectacular Musy Natural Pearl and Diamond Necklace Tiara, which was made for Princess Maria Vittoria dal Pozzo della Cisterna, Duchess of Aosta and one time Queen of Spain. Inherited by one of her three sons, the Necklace/Tiara was bought by their cousin King Umberto II of Italy, and often worn as a necklace by his daughter, Princess Maria Gabriella of Savoy, who is selling it now.
