Princess Margaret (in her Sapphire Earrings) and Lord Snowdon were joined by Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace of Monaco (wearing her Van Cleef & Arpels Earrings) and Begum Aga Khan for a Gala Dinner at the Palais de la Méditerranée in Nice on this day in 1966, to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Anglo-American Hospital in Nice. There was an amusing exchange between the two Princesses, when Princess Margaret said: “Well, you don’t look like a movie star.” to which Princess Grace replied simply: “Well, I wasn’t born a movie star.”
