Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Wedding Reception, 2011

Happy 10th Anniversary to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who got married on this day in 2011, in what was termed the ‘Wedding of the Century’! Since we have already covered their Pre-Wedding Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and their Wedding at Westminster Abbey, we though today the perfect opportunity to feature their little-known Evening Wedding Reception at Buckingham Palace.

Following the Wedding of the Prince William and Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall hosted a Dinner followed by a Dance for the new Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at Buckingham Palace on this day in 2011, for which the two couples were filmed departing Clarence House to drive to the Palace. While the evening was hosted by the Prince and Duchess, it was planned by Prince Harry along with James and Pippa Middleton.

There are no pictures released from inside the Palace during the Evening Reception, but members of the Royal Family and some guests were pictured arriving. The singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding performed at the event, singing her rendition of “Your Song” for the couple’s first dance. The evening ended at 3 am, with a small fireworks display in the palace grounds. Many of the Foreign Royal Guests invited to the Wedding but not the Reception instead attended a party hosted by Crown Prince Pavlos and Crown Princess Marie Chantal of Greece.
