Koningsdag 2021

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands were joined by the Princess of Orange (wearing Queen Juliana’s Aquamarine Earrings), Princess Alexia, and Princess Ariane for the annual Koningsdag (King’s Day) celebrations at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven on April 27th, participating in a special online and TV broadcast through the theme of Making Knowledge due to the ongoing Pandemic. Koningsdag, a Bank Holiday in the Netherlands, celebrates King Willem-Alexander’s Birthday, and members of the Royal Family attend celebrations in a different city each year.

The Royal Family arrived at the High Tech Campus in Eindhoven in a procession, with King Willem-Alexander and the Princess of Orange driving in a DAF Kini, being welcomed by the Mayor Jorritsma and, digitally, by the residents of Eindhoven. The Royal Family were part of ‘Team van Oranje’ as they took a quiz about the Brainport-Eindhoven region and then watched a performance from the studio in the High Tech Campus before taking part in a series of activities that highlighted Eindhoven. In the evening, the Royal Family attended a rehearsal for The Streamers Concert, to be held in the courtyard of the Royal Stable in The Hague.

  1. Oh, my goodness! I’m amazed at how much has Princess Ariane has grown! She’s a veritable young lady already! All the girls look so grown up already and the family looks so happy together. Congratulations to King Willem-Alexander on his day!
