The Wedding of Crown Prince Rupprecht of Bavaria, son of King Ludwig III of Bavaria and Archduchess Maria Theresia of Austria-Este, and Princess Antonia of Luxembourg, the fourth daughter of Grand Duke William IV of Luxembourg and Infanta Marie Anne of Portugal, at Schloss Hohenburg in Bavaria on this day in 1921, with a plethora of Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance including King Ludwig III of Bavaria, Dowager Grand Duchess Marie Anne and the future Pope Pius XII. The couple had six children and had a difficult time in exile and concentration camps during the Second World War, with the Crown Princess’ health being deteriorated as a result of her ordeal, until her death in 1954. the Crown Prince died exactly a year later.
