The highlight of the visit was a State Banquet hosted by the Shah (wearing the Royal Victorian Chain) and Empress (in the Empress Farah’s Seven Emerald Tiara and Empress Eugenie’s Emerald) for the Queen (wearing Queen Alexandra’s Kokoshnik Tiara with Greville Ruby and Diamond Floral Bandeau Necklace) and Duke at the Golestan Palace in Tehran.

Following visits to Isfahan, Persepolis, and the Iranian Crown Jewels in the Central Bank of Tehran, the Queen (glittering in the Vladimir Tiara and Delhi Durbar Parure) and Duke of Edinburgh hosted a Return Banquet in honour of the Shah of Iran and Empress Farah (wearing her Noor-ol-Ain Tiara) at the British Embassy in Tehran, following which the Queen and Duke returned to Britain, following the extensive Tour of South Asia.
