— Oskar Aanmoen 🇳🇴 (@OAanmoen) October 2, 2020Crown Prince Regent Haakon of Norway (wearing the Order of St. Olav and the Royal Norwegian Order of Merit) was join by Queen Sonja as he presided over the Formal Opening of the 165th session of the Storting (Parliament) and delivered a speech from the Norwegian Throne at the Stortingsbygningen in Oslo on October 2nd. The Crown Prince is the Regent of Norway while King Harald recuperates from his recent hospitalisation. The last time a Crown Prince presided over the Opening of Parliament was exactly 30 years ago, in 1990.
The Crown Prince looked every inch the monarch. He did his father proud! It’s very nice that his mother Queen Sonja was there to support him, but it’s very sad that the Crown Princess wasn’t there. I’m sure she must have been very disappointed not to have been able to attend.
