Happy Birthday to the Countess of Paris, who turns 43 today! The daughter of Don Alfonso de Tornos y Zubiría and Maria Antonia Anna Zdenka, Edle von Steinhart, Philomena de Tornos Steinhart was born in Vienna and spent part of her youth in the Auvergne, studying at the Lycée Maritime in Ciboure. In 2009, she married Prince Jean, Duke of Vendôme, the son to the Count of Paris, the Orléans claimant to the French throne, and Duchess Marie-Thérèse of Württemberg, Duchess of Montpensier. The couple have five children and succeeded his father as the Heads of the House of Orléans last year, becoming the Count and Countess of Paris. The family resides on the Royal Estate of Dreux. We wish HRH a very happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!

  1. I think the wedding dress of the Countess of Paris was one of the most attractive and original gowns I’ve seen in a long time. She looked exactly like a beautiful Renaissance princess, right out of a portrait by Tintoretto! She is of Italian descent, so that should not be surprising, right? She also managed to do her best by her wedding tiara, a very unfortunate arrangement of very large and lovely turquoises. But she made it work! Happy Birthday to the Countess. I wish her joy!
