Wedding of Prince Tomislav of Yugoslavia and Princess Margarita of Baden, 1957

The Wedding of Prince Tomislav of Yugoslavia, son of King Alexander of Yugoslavia and Princess Maria of Romania, and Princess Margarita of Baden, daughter of the Margrave of Baden and Princess Theodora of Greece, at Schloss Salem in Germany on this day in 1957. The couple had two children, Prince Nikola and Princess Katarina, settling in the United Kingdom and running a fruit farm in Sussex until their divorce in 1981. Prince Tomislav remarried and died in 2000, while Princess Margarita passed away in 2013.

Royal Guests and Relatives in attendance included Queen Mother Maria and King Peter II of Yugoslavia (mother and brother of the groom), Tsar Simeon of Bulgaria, King Umberto of Italy, Queen Frederica of Greece, the Duke of Edinburgh (uncle of the bride), the Countess of Paris, Princess Andrew of Greece (grandmother of the bride), Princess Margaretha of Sweden, Princess Alexandra of Kent, and Earl and Countess Mountbatten.
