The Wedding of Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia, son of Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia and Grand Duchess Kira Kirillovna of Russia, and Countess Donata of Castell-Rüdenhausen, daughter of the 4th Prince of Castell-Rüdenhausen and Countess Irene of Solms-Laubach, at Schloss Rüdenhausen in Bavaria on this day in 1975, following a fete on the grounds of the Schloss the following evening. Royal Guests included his aunt, the Duchess of Brunswick. The couple had one son, the current Prince of Prussia, and one daughter, born posthumously after his death in a military accident in 1977. Princess Donata remarried to Duke Friedrich August of Oldenburg, the brother-in-law of her late husband, in 1991 and passed away in 2015.
