Queen Margrethe met her grandfather, Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf of Sweden, exactly five years later when he visited Copenhagen just days after the Liberation of Denmark. The following month, Crown Princess Ingrid took Princess Margrethe and Princess Benedikte on their first visit to Sweden, to meet other members of the family, including her two other godparents. Only Prince Arthur, who had died in 1942, was unable to meet his great-granddaughter.
