King George V’s Silver Jubilee Celebrations in London on this day in 1935, which began with a Carriage Procession through London towards a Thanksgiving Service in St Paul’s Cathedral, which followed another Procession back to Buckingham Palace, where the Royal Family appeared on the Balcony. King George V and Queen Mary were joined by members of the family, including Queen Maud of Norway, the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of York, Princess Mary and the Earl of Harewood, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, and the Duke of Gloucester.

Other events to mark the Jubilee included a Ball for two thousand at Buckingham Palace on May 14th, an Empire Exhibition, the State Opening of Parliament, and a Reception hosted by the Lord Mayor of London in honour of the King and Queen (wearing the Vladimir Tiara), also attended by the Prince of Wales and the Duke and Duchess of York (in her Turquoise Tiara).
