The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on an official visit to the Republic of Ireland between March 3rd and March 5th, at the request of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The visit, which includes visits to Dublin, County Meath, County Kildare and Galway, highlights the many strong links between the United Kingdom and Ireland. On the afternoon of March 3rd, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge arrived at Dublin Airport, where they were met by representatives from the Irish government and the British Ambassador to Ireland, before being received by President Michael D. Higgins and Sabina Higgins at Áras an Uachtaráin in Phoenix Park.
