The Wedding of Lady Pamela Mountbatten, the younger daughter of the 1st Earl and Countess Mountbatten of Burma, and interior designer David Hicks in the midst of a snowstorm at Romsey Abbey on this day in 1960, followed by a Reception at the Family Seat of Broadlands. The couple had three children and remained happily married until his death in 1998.

Royal Guests and Relatives included Queen Louise of Sweden, the Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and Princess Anne, the Queen Mother, Princess Margaret, the Duchess of Gloucester, the Duchess of Kent, and Princess Alexandra. The Queen was heavily pregnant with Prince Andrew and thus unable to attend.
