The Funeral of Sir Angus Ogilvy, the husband of Princess Alexandra of Kent, at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle on this day in 2005. Afterwards, the coffin was carried by The Scots Guards before being buried at the Royal Burial Ground in Frogmore. Members of the Royal Family in attendance included the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, the Duchess of Cornwall, Princess Royal and Sir Tim, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, Lady Sarah and Daniel Chatto, and Lady Helen and Tim Taylor.

  1. Very touching to see the wreathes from the former King and Queen of Greece and the King and Queen of Norway – all cousins.

  2. I really liked Sir Angus. He was a proud man who refused an earldom when it was offered to him upon marrying Princess Alexandra. It was so unfortunate that he was caught up in a scandal that was not his doing, but that blighted his career and caused him to have an early retirement. I thought that was very unfortunate. He did recover later on, to where he was very much appreciated for his charity work. No doubt he is still greatly missed by Princess Alexandra and his children- even Marina.
