Tomorrow, the Queen and members of the Royal Family will host a reception for NATO leader at Buckingham Palace to mark 70 years of the NATO alliance, so we are taking a look at a similar gathering of world leaders at Buckingham Palace in May 1977, when, during a G7 Summit in London to discuss the international economic crisis, the Queen (wearing Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee Necklace) and members of the Royal Family, including the Duke of Edinburgh, Queen Mother (in Queen Alexandra’s Wedding Gift Necklace and the Prince of Wales Feathers Brooch), the Prince of Wales, and Princess Margaret, hosted a Dinner for Prime Minister Takeo Fukuda of Japan, Prime Minister James Callaghan of the United Kingdom, French President Valery Giscard d’Estaing, Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau of Canada, American President Jimmy Carter (who kissed the Queen Mother on the lips), President of the Italian Council Giulio Andreotti and the German Chancellor Helmut Schmidt.

  1. You have omitted Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau of Canada, and you have the wrong British Prime Minister…James Callaghan was PM at this time.
