Happy Birthday to Duchess Marie-Thérèse of Württemberg, Duchess of Montpensier, who turns 85 today! The fifth child and fourth daughter of the Duke of Württemberg, and Archduchess Rosa of Austria, she grew up at Schloss Altshausen and Schloss Friedrichshafen. In 1957, Duchess Marie-Thérèse married Prince Henri, Count of Clermont, eldest son of the Count of Paris and Princess Isabelle of Orléans-Braganza, and the couple had five children, including the current Count of Paris, before legally separating in 1977, divorcing in 1984, and canonically annulled in 2009. After the divorce, Duchess Marie-Thérèse was given the title of ‘Duchess of Montpensier’ by the then Count of Paris. The Duchess continues to be regularly seen at Württemberg and Orléans royal events. We wish her a Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
