Royal Ascot 2019- Day 1

It’s that time of year again! The British Royal Family attended the first day of races at the Ascot Racecourse on June 18th. Royal Ascot is a permanent fixture on the British Royal Family’s June calendar. For the first day of Royal Ascot 2019, the Queen (wearing her Sapphire Jubilee Snowflake Brooch) was accompanied by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of The Netherlands (in the House Diamond Earrings), the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Princess Royal, the Earl and Countess of Wessex, the Duke of York, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie for the procession from Windsor Castle to the Ascot Racecourse in horse-drawn landaus, before the Royal Family and their guests spent the day in the Royal Enclosure. Zara and Mike Tindall were also present. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge presented the trophy for winning the Kings Stand Stakes while the Earl and Countess of Wessex presented the the trophy for winning the Ascot Stakes.

  1. Queen Maxima wore the ginormous diamonds from the Stuart tiara as earrings. I guess Queen Letizia’s huge diamond earrings from the Joyas de Pasar and the Queen’s own Queen Mary diamond earrings they wore at the Garter ceremony gave her ideas. Q. Maxima’s are bigger, I think, so she wins! 🙂 Her dress was lovely, but her hat could have used a little trimming. Those leaves were a bit out of control! She’s very lucky to be so tall. The Duchess of Cambridge’s whole outfit was the best, IMHO. The dress was beautiful and so was the hat. I thought the Queen’s hat was excellent too and that shade of blue looks wonderful on her!
