King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands attended a memorial service at the De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, on 4 May, and then laid a wreath at the National Monument on Dam Square. The National Liberation Celebrations Bevrijdingsdag commemorate the Allied Liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War.

On the evening of May 5th, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima attended the annual Bevrijdingsconcert (Liberation Concert) to mark the closing of the National Liberation Celebration on and around the Amstel in front of Royal Theater Carré in Amsterdam.

King Willem-Alexander wore a dark suit with a orange tie and a pin on his lapel. Queen Máxima wore a red Natan top and trousers with a diamond rivere, diamond earrings, and bow brooches in her hair.
