Happy Birthday to Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, who turns 47 today! The Australian commoner who is set to be the future Queen of Denmark, she has a variety of hierloom jewels at her disposal, but Crown Princess Mary is also building a collection of modern jewels, including the various Aquamarine Jewels we are featuring today!
Pear-shaped Aquamarine Earrings
Crown Princess Mary has been wearing these earrings, featuring a pear-shaped Aquamarine suspended from a diamond frame, since January 2004, a few months before her wedding, and may have been an engagement gift from Crown Prince Frederik. She has worn them for day and evening events, often pairing the earrings with the Aquamarine Choker.
Aquamarine, Pearl, and Sapphire Choker
Another engagement gift from Crown Prince Frederik, Crown Princess Mary first wore a Pearl Choker with a large Aquamarine Clasp ringed with Sapphires for a State Banquet for the Romanian President in January 2004. The choker is often paired with the Pear-shaped Aquamarine Earrings, and has been worn with her Wedding Tiara. It was featured in a photoshoot for her Copper Anniversary.
Aquamarine Chandelier Earrings
The most worn of Crown Princess Mary’s Aquamarine Jewels are her Chandelier Earrings, featuring five aquamarines, which were debuted just a few months after her wedding. They are worn for a large variety of events, most recently for the Crown Prince Frederik Fund’s 25th Anniversary Dinner at Amalienborg Palace.
A ring featuring a large aquamarine, and a bracelet with paler aquamarines, are usually worn by Crown Princess Mary with the other Aquamarine Jewels, and appeared around 2006, reported to be another gift from Crown Prince Frederik.
Modern Aquamarine Earrings
More recently, since 2013, Crown Princess Mary has been wearing these modern earrings featuring large, dark Aquamarines suspended from an Aquamarine stud, that have been worn by Crown Princess Mary for a lot of cocktail events.
