  1. WOW!!!! Queen Letizia is wearing at last the only one of the Spanish tiaras left to see on her. She’s on a roll, having also worn the Cartier Pearl tiara earlier in the year. I’m so glad to see that all the tiaras in the Spanish collection are intact and are going to continue to be used. I so much prefer to see them being used than in a museum display. They might still be pretty to see, but nothing compares to actually seeing them worn. She was wearing a repeated gown, but it looked divine with such a big tiara so it was a great choice. The First Lady of China was looking very excellent as well. Her style is very classic and sober. Her gala gown is very proper and her pearls are the perfect complement. Both ladies were lovely!

    1. I agree! She does look lovely! I think she might still wear the Niarchos Ruby Tiara, so there is some room for surprises! I am, however, hoping for Queen Letizia to wear more necklaces from now on!

      1. There are two things she hardly ever wears and those are rings and necklaces. Sometimes she wears huge rings which are obviously not quite “real”, but actual diamond or pearl rings, etc., I have yet to see her wear. As for necklaces, she wore the pearl necklace from the “joyas de pasar” a few weeks ago and that has been about it as far as I remember. I don’t know about the Niarchos Ruby tirara/necklace. I think that may be Queen Sofia’s personal property so I don’t know if she’ll lend it to Queen Letizia. Maybe. Queen Sofia also has a lovely ruby pendant that she sometimes attached to a pearl necklace. I wonder about that as well because I think that it used to belong to Queen Frederica. Maybe the Infanta Leonor will get to wear those? However, there is a necklace made up of luscious “chatones”, huge diamonds, that are also part of the “joyas de pasar” that Queen Letizia still hasn’t used. I really don’t understand how can someone refrain from using these lovely jewels. If I were she, I would have worn them a long time ago! 🙂

  2. Oh yes! I remember reading it! This pendant, especially hanging from her pearl necklace, is such a favorite of mine. That and Princess Margaret’s diamond and pearl earrings (now owned and worn by her daughter Lady Sarah) are two pieces of royal jewelry that I simply adore. I love other pieces, but they’re so grand I couldn’t possibly wear them in my life. But those two pieces definitely yes!!!
