King Willem-Alexander wore White Tie with the Military William Order. Queen Máxima wore a Claes Iversen gown with the Ruby Peacock Tiara, ruby earrings, and the Mellerio Ruby Brooch. Princess Beatrix (wearing Queen Emma’s Diamond Tiara), Princess Margriet (in the Dutch Emerald Tiara), Prince Constantjin (in the Order of the Netherlands Lion), and Princess Laurentien (wearing the Dutch Aquamarine Tiara) were also present.

I think this is one of the best appearances of the Ruby Peacock tiara. I absolutely love that ruby brooch! I’m surprised Q. Maxima is not wearing any orders. In fact, it looks like only the men were wearing orders, with the exception of Madame President Halimah Yacob. It’s really nice to see Q. Beatrix, Princess Margriet, and Princess Laurentien out and about and looking great!
I agree! The Ruby Peacock Tiara was the one I hoped for today, and I’m glad to see it! The other Royal Ladies didn’t wear Orders at last year’s Argentine State Banquet, but I’m shocked that Queen Maxima isn’t wearing her Order! I do hope that it won’t becomes a trend (we’ll probably find out at the Cape Verde State Visit next month)! I was also surprised that there wasn’t an exchange of Orders, similar to last month’s State Visit in the UK, unlike previous State Visits.
Hmmm….I wonder what’s going on? BTW, have you heard that Mme. Macron received but didn’t wear both the Dannebrog and the Belgian orders? Is that normal? I thought you’re supposed to wear your host’s orders, if you have them, as a sign of courtesy.
I thought the same, it might be just her preference! Queen Fabiola never wore any Orders as well, though she was most certainly given them!
Please, give credit to the makers instead of stealing to use it as a gif. It’s just theft. Tnx.
I do put the video underneath to give credit, but I understand what you mean and I’ll add it! I apologise for any inconvenience!
