Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary in Rome

Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark are on a visit to Rome, to promote Danish Business focus on solutions in health, climate change, water and energy, urbanization and sustainable food production, from November 6th to the 8th. The couple have a special connection to Rome, as they got engaged there in 2003.

In the afternoon of November 6th, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary were hosted by President Sergio Mattarell at a luncheon in the Palazzo del Quirinale, before they toured the Terme Di Caracalla, and in the evening, attended a Welcome Reception for the Danish business delegation.

On the 7th, the Crown Princely Couple attended the official opening of the business promotion at Villa Miani, after which the Crown Prince attended the opening of the seminars “Shaping the Future of Healthcare and Strategic Investments”,”Water: Efficiency and Revenue Streams”, and “Catch up – the market is moving”, while the Crown Princess attended the seminar s”Keynote: The Business of Denmark’s Green Transition”, “Ready for tomorrow’s consumers”,”The Transformation of Healthcare and Business Models of the Future”. Afterwards, they attended a business lunch with Danish companies, watched the panel debate “Outlook on the EU and the global industry agenda”, participated in a gastro event, and attended a cooking show with Danish and Italian chefs. In the evening, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended an official dinner.

The final day started at the Vatican, where Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary had audience with Pope Francis, before he visited the Trevi fountain and the aqueduct Acqua Vergine, and the Crown Princely couple toured the Bambino Gesu Hospital.
