Duke and Duchess of Sussex in Sussex

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first joint official visit to Sussex on October 3rd. They started their visit at Edes House, located at the heart of Chichester, where they were shown the rare Sussex copy of the American Declaration of Independence. Following, they traveled to Bognor Regis to officially open the University of Chichester’s Engineering and Digital Technology Park, before traveling along the coast to the seaside city of Brighton and Hove in East Sussex.

In Brighton, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex first visited the iconic Royal Pavilion, touring several of the Pavilion’s rooms, learning more about the building’s history and the impact that it had on the social development of Brighton in the 18th century, before walking to Survivors’ Network, a charity that supports survivors of sexual violence and abuse in Sussex, where they talked to service users, volunteers and staff. Afterwards, the Duke and Duchess visited the JOFF Youth Centre in the coastal town of Peacehaven, where they met young people from youth groups across East Sussex to heard their strategic plans and priorities around mental health and emotional wellbeing.
