Christening of Princess Adrienne of Sweden

Princess Adrienne of Sweden, Duchess of Blekinge, third child of of Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill, was christened in the Chapel of Drottningholm Palace on June 8th. Princess Adrienne was born on March 9th at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm.

Princess Adrienne was christened in the Royal Chapel of Drottningholm Palace at noon. The ceremony was officiated by Archbishop Emeritus Anders Wejryd, Bishop Johan Dalman and the Pastor of the Royal Family, Michael Bjerkhagen. Princess Adrienne godparents are Miss Anouska d’Abo, Mrs Coralie Charriol Paul, Mr Nader Panahpour, Baron Gustav Thott, Mrs Charlotte Kreuger Cederlund, and Mrs Natalie Werner. After the service, the King bestowed theOrder of the Seraphim on his granddaughter. Later, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia hosted a reception at Drottningholm Palace, during which, the Princess laid in King Karl XV’s cradle.

Members of the Royal Family in attendance included King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Oscar, Prince Carl Philip,Princess Sofia, Prince Alexander, Prince Gabriel, Princess Margretha, Princess Brigitta, Princess Desiree, and Princess Christina.

Princess Adrienne wore the 1906 christening gown with the sash of the Order of the Seraphim. Princess Madeleine wore Giambattista Valli dress with the Earrings and Bracelet of the Cameo Parure King Carl XVI Gustaf’s Portrait Brooch. Chris O’Neil wore Morning Dress with the pin of the Order of the Polar Star.
