The Wedding Ball of Infanta Pilar of Spain, eldest daughter of the Count and Countess of Barcelona (wearing Queen Maria Christina’s Cartier Loop Tiara), and Luis Gómez-Acebo y Duque de Estrada, Viscount de la Torre at the Palacio Estoril Hotel in Estoril, Portugal on this day in 1967, on the eve of their Wedding at the Jerónimos Monastery in Lisbon.

  1. The Infanta Pilar looked very excellent during her pre-wedding gala, and her future husband the Duke of Estrada as well. They both look so young-and so thin! By all accounts it was a happy marriage that sadly ended with the Duke’s early death aged 56. The Infanta still hosts family reunions in her house, very well attended by the vast majority of the Spanish Royal family.
