Her appearance marks the 110th anniversary of her grandmother, Queen Mary, starting the 1908 Olympic Marathon at Windsor Castle. In addition to the Queen, Prince Harry made the presentations to the winners of the elite men, women, wheelchair and IPC races, and met a selection of volunteers in the administration of the race and members of the St. John Ambulance.
