Wedding of Prince Laurent of Belgium

Happy Anniversary to Prince Laurent and Princess Claire of Belgium, who got married on this day in 2003. The youngest son of King Albert and Queen Paola, Prince Laurent married the British-Belgian Claire Coombs in Brussels, in what has been the last Royal Wedding in the country to date. The couple have three children, and though he has been plagued by scandals, Prince Laurent and Princess Claire have remained happily married.

Prince Laurent and Claire Coombs first got married in a Civil Ceremony at the Brussels Town Hall, which was followed by a Religious Service at the Saint Michael and Gudula Cathedral. Afterwards, the newlyweds waved to the crowds.

Prince Laurent wore Uniform with the Sash and Star of the Order of the Leopold. The new Princess Claire wore a gown by NATAN’s Edouard Vermeulen, with Queen Paola’s veil, her Wedding Tiara, a gift from the King and Queen, and Pearl Earrings, a gift from Queen Paola’s family.

  1. Not only does the bride look incredibly elegant, but both mothers do as well. I do have some reservations about Mathilde’s hat, though…..
