King Abdullah and Queen Rania of Jordan are starting their Official Visit to the Netherlands today, a downgraded version of the State Visit which was delayed last year! To mark the occasion, we are flashing back to the Jordanian State Banquet at the Noordeinde Palace on their last State Visit to the Netherlands, in 2006, which was attended by a plethora of royal guests. First Row, from L-R; Pieter von Vollenhoven and Princess Margriet (wearing the Dutch Pearl Tiara), Queen Rania (in the Arabic Script Tiara), King Abdullah, and Queen Beatrix (wearing the Antique Pearl Tiara). Second Row, from L-R; Princess Noor, Prince Hamzah, Princess Laurentien (in the Laurel Wreath Tiara), Prince Constantjin, Princess Rahmah, and Alaa Batayneh.

  1. An Official Visit doesn’t imply a gala dinner as opposed to a State Visit? As in, no chance of tiara sightings? 🙁
