Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in Sweden- Day 2

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on a four-day Official Visit to Sweden and Norway, from January 30th to February 2nd, at the request of the Foreign Office. They are hosted by members of the Royal Families of the two countries. Click HERE for Day 1 in Sweden.

On the morning of Day 2, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, accompanied by Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel, visited the world famous Karolinska Institute, which accounts for over 40 per cent of the medical academic research conducted in Sweden. They met with leading scientific researchers and practitioners to discuss ground-breaking academic work in developmental psychology, and Sweden’s approach to managing mental health challenges, including the impact of physical activity on mental health. They also heard about the Youth Aware of Mental Health (YAM) programme run by the National Association for Suicide Research and Prevention of Mental Ill Health (NASP). Following, the Royal Group visited to Matteusskolan, a comprehensive school in the heart of the city centre, where they joined children who have taken part in the YAM programme during one of their mental health activity sessions, and spoke to the mentors who run the training.

In the afternoon, the Duke, Duchess, Crown Princess Victoria, and Prince Daniel visited one of Sweden’s leading department stores – NK – to open an interactive exhibition of UK design, fashion and brands that operate in Sweden. They learned how these brands in particular put innovation, technology and sustainable practices at the forefront of their businesses. Afterwards, the Duke and Duchess had tea with the Crown Princess Couple at Haga Palace.

In the evening, the Crown Princess Couple and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a reception at the Fotografiska Gallery. The Reception was a celebration of contemporary culture with guests representing the worlds of music, film, television, theatre, tech, dance, art and sport, with live music, drinks and canapés, and where the Duke gave a speech.

The Duke of Cambridge wore a dark blazer with an Acne jumper. The Duchess wore an Alexander McQueen dress with a Catherine Walker coat and new In2Design Baroque Pearl Drop Earrings. Crown Princess Victoria wore a Rodebjer pant suit with an Acne coat and her Marianne Dulong ‘Kharisma’ Earrings. Prince Daniel wore a brown suit with a dark blue tie.

In the evening, the Duke wore a navy suit with a blue tie. The Duchess wore the Erdem ‘Christina’ dress with hoop earrings. Crown Princess Victoria wore a Stylein top and skirt. Prince Daniel wore a navy suit with a dark tie.

  1. Hmmmm…..I’m liking more their morning outfits that their evening wear during this visit. It seems like CP Victoria didn’t get the memo for dinner. Everyone is in blue except for her! The two gentlemen appear as if they bought the same suit in the single and double breasted versions. 🙂 I think maybe CP Victoria needs to reconsider her footwear for the evening. Those booties!!! But I must say she looked marvelous in her mint pantsuit and peach coat in the morning!

  2. Is the Duchess Catherine pregnant again? She looked like it in her off while evening gown.
