Duchess of Cambridge at Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute and Bethlem Royal Hospital

The Duchess of Cambridge visited the Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London and the Perinatal Service at Bethlem Royal Hospital, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust on January 24th.

The Duchess of Cambridge started her visit to King’s College London at the Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute’s laboratory to receive a briefing on its work in perinatal research before she met with senior academics conducting research in perinatal psychiatry.

The Duchess started her visit to the Mother and Baby Unit at the Bethlem Royal Hospital, part of South London Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.  She visited the unit’s nursery area and met with several patients who are currently undergoing treatment. The Duchess also visited the Video Therapy room where she was shown videos of mother-baby interaction used as therapeutic tool in the unit. Before departing, the Duchess met professionals involved in perinatal mental health care, including community nurses, midwives and health visitors.

The Duchess repeated the Seraphine ‘Natasha’ coat over the Seraphine Florrie dress with her sapphire and diamond earrings.

  1. OMIGOSH! Looking at the first picture of the Duchess I’m wondering about what you said, that she may be further along than what everyone thinks. The baby is quite low! 😀

    1. I think the April date was purposely late, and it’s due in March. The May 19 date for the wedding is a bit too short for Kate to be back in shape if she gives birth in April, but March allows more than enough time.
