— The Royal Watcher (@saadsalman719) December 17, 2020Queen Mary (wearing her Diamond Lozenge Tiara) was joined by Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent (wearing the Kent Pearl Bandeau) as she attended the Royal Film Premiere of ‘The Ghost Goes West’ at Leicester Square Theatre in London on this day in 1935, one of the last royal engagements before King George V’s Death the following month.
The Diamond Lozenge tiara could still be lurking in the vaults, waiting for a newly-minted princess to take it out for a spin, right? Perhaps the future Mrs. Prince Harry could to the honors? It would be very cool if this treasure or any other one like the Persian Turquoise tiara Princess Margaret used to wear would come out to play. We know we won’t see the wee Kent Pearl Bandeau any more as it was sold years ago, but I do hope we might be able to see Q. Mary’s Diamond Lozenge Tiara one day!
I hope so too!
