Happy Silver Anniversary to the Princess Royal and Sir Timothy Laurence, who got married on this day in 1992 at Crathie Kirk, near Balmoral Castle. Since the Church of England did not at that time allow divorced persons whose former spouses were still living to remarry in its churches, the couple got married in the Church of Scotland. The Wedding was a private event, but the couple were pictured arriving and departing. The couple have no children, but she has two children from her previous marriage to Mark Phillips.

  1. In typical Princess Anne fashion, she got divorced without much fuss and got remarried without much fuss. Neither she nor her ex-husband aired their laundry in public and as a result everyone has been able to move on without unnecessary unpleasantness. I’m glad she and Sir Timothy have been happily married all these years and are now celebrating their silver anniversary. I wish them much joy!
