Happy Birthday to the Princess of Orange! The eldest of the three daughters of King Willem-Alexander and Argentinian-born Queen Maxima, she was born in The Hague, and baptised in the Grote of Sint-Jacobskerk. Her godparents include her uncle, Prince Constantijn, and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden. Princess Catharina-Amalia attends the Christelijk Gymnasium Sorghvliet in the Hague. In 2013, she became heir-apparent to the Throne after the Abdication of her grandmother and the accession of her parents to the Throne. She is the first female to assume the title of Princess of Orange in her own right, and will be the fourth Queen Regnant of the Netherlands. She does not undertake official duties, but does attend the annual Koningsdag celebrations as well as Prinsjesdag. We wish HRH a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!

  1. Oh, my goodness! Fourteen already!!! She seems to be a very lovely young lady who has shown great aplomb in the few occasions she has been in the public eye. I can remember her nod to her father the King when he acknowledged her as the Princess of Orange in her own right. It was so charming! I am looking forward to her attending balls and wearing tiaras. She has a great teacher in her mother Queen Maxima!
